Brian W. Atkinson, a CCU Computer Science graduating senior, has been offered the opportunity to work at the Los Alamos National Laboratory during the summer of 2014 on a research-oriented internship in the Ultrascale Systems Research Center. Working under the direction of Dr. Nathan DeBardeleben, the Center’s lead resilience research scientist, Mr. Atkinson will be working with a software fault injection tool that is used to predict how large numeric simulations behave in the presence of different types of data corruption. After summer 2014, Mr. Atkinson is scheduled to start graduate school in computer engineering at Clemson University with research advisor, Dr. Walt Ligon.

A document detailing the plans for the summer internship can be found here.
