The Office of Information Technology Services at Coastal Carolina University is seeking a Senior Application Analyst to provide administration of multiple systems, databases, and services for the academic and research community including but not limited to: Computer Science, and Marine Science departments. The Senior Application Analyst operates under general supervision and works closely with key ITS staff members and academic stakeholders to perform analysis and support of High Performance Computing Clusters, Linux, Unix and Windows system to include the design, programming, integration, testing, debugging and implementation of systems. Serve as a user contact for special system projects.

Duties include, but are not limited to: acting as the system administrator for designated Linux, UNIX and Windows systems that support the academic community/assigned departments; serving as first responder to user inquiries; developing and maintaining documentation of all customization and upgrades; implementing and maintaining compliance with current security and service protocols and standards; managing updates and maintenance on designated academic lab machines, file servers, and virtual environments including the creations and maintenance of Unix and Windows accounts for the departments; consulting with users regarding applications programming requests, applications training, user support and troubleshooting; analyzing user applications programming requests related to overall program goals and system functionality and recommends solutions; assisting with the administration, maintenance, and support High Performance Cluster (HPC) for Sciences as well as the Cyber Infrastructure to handle large data transferring, processing, and computation; facilitating system development to support the curriculum objectives in preparing students for the real world; researching, evaluating, recommending and using emerging and/or relevant methodologies, languages and technologies; providing exceptional customer service to all constituents, including but not limited to, faculty, staff, students, visitors and the community at large; documenting all customizations and upgrading and facilitating the successful implementation of software upgrades; writing and maintaining software code, queries and reports and programs applications using current tools and languages; and performing other duties as assigned.
