The Department of Computer Science and Information Systems at Coastal Carolina University is accepting applications for Adjunct Faculty to teach Computer Science courses beginning in Fall 2014. Teaching assignments will be one or more courses in Introductory Computer Science, including:

  • CSCI 101 : Introduction to the Internet and World Wide Web
  • CSCI 105 : Introduction to Computer Applications
  • CSCI 110 : Enterprise Business Applications

  • Candidates with specialized graduate computer science courses may also teach a class in their area of expertise, if needed by the department. While course delivery includes both traditional on-site in-person as well as online distance learning formats, preference will be given to candidates that can accommodate both delivery methods.

    A Master's degree is required, with at least 18 graduate credits in Computer Science, Information Systems, Information Technology, Management Information Systems, or a closely related field.

    The College of Science at Coastal Carolina University invites applications for a tenure-track assistant professor position in the Department of Computer Science and Information Systems, beginning Fall 2015. Teaching responsibilities will include courses in the baccalaureate-level Information Technology program, as well as general programming and survey courses. We are specifically seeking candidates with expertise in security; however, exceptional candidates in all areas of computer science, information systems, and information technology will be considered.

    An earned doctorate in information technology, computer information systems, computer science, computer engineering, software engineering, or a relevant technical field; and demonstrated experience teaching undergraduate students are required. Candidates with a strong commitment to both teaching and scholarly research are encouraged to apply. Prior experience with distance learning would be beneficial.

    The Department of Computer Science and Information Systems at Coastal Carolina University consists of eight tenure-track faculty and three full-time lecturers. CSIS faculty are actively conducting research in systems management, software engineering, image processing, multimedia classification, parallel systems, and computing education.
