Coastal Carolina University invites applications for a full-time lecturer position in the Department of Computing Sciences, beginning August 2015.

Applicants must have a Master of Science degree in computer information systems, computer science, or a closely related field. Desired qualifications include experience in teaching introductory undergraduate programming classes, advanced Java programming, Web programming, and relational databases. Applicants with PHP/MySQL teaching experience in a LAMP stack environment are preferred. Teaching responsibilities will include courses throughout the undergraduate curriculum, based on qualifications, with a particular emphasis on programming classes. Prior experience with distance learning would be beneficial.

The Department of Computer Science and Information Systems at Coastal Carolina University is accepting applications for Adjunct Faculty to teach Computer Science courses beginning in Fall 2014. Teaching assignments will be one or more courses in Introductory Computer Science, including:

  • CSCI 101 : Introduction to the Internet and World Wide Web
  • CSCI 105 : Introduction to Computer Applications
  • CSCI 110 : Enterprise Business Applications

  • Candidates with specialized graduate computer science courses may also teach a class in their area of expertise, if needed by the department. While course delivery includes both traditional on-site in-person as well as online distance learning formats, preference will be given to candidates that can accommodate both delivery methods.

    A Master's degree is required, with at least 18 graduate credits in Computer Science, Information Systems, Information Technology, Management Information Systems, or a closely related field.
